 mood: it's a BOO!tiful thing

sight: candlelight and autumnal colours

sound: the rustle and crackle of leaves, maybe an open fire...and click here for a blood curdling playlist!

touch: cozy cashmere sweaters

taste: pumpkin and spice and all things nice

smell: autumn, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves

take a leaf from mother nature

give the flowers a break. the ground is covered with the most spectacular foliage; gather some leaves, put them in a plastic bag with a couple of sheets of paper towel to absorb the moisture, then pile the leaves into a big bowl and feature them as a table centerpiece. add a few drops of essential oil; ceder, bergamot...

a tip if you decide to carve the mini pumpkins or gourds; they are TOUGH!  steam them for 5 minutes to soften the skin, then use a paring knife to cut out letters or faces. be careful: there will be some steam inside the gourds and the knife is very sharp

use some brilliant leaves to line a dinner plate, then place the soup bowl on top of them
