shopping tips:

  • if you don't know where to find an asian grocer, just head to china town in your city and you will find gorcery stores with just about everything you need
  • the ingredients here are more typical of thai cooking than chinese cooking. if there is a thai area in your city (such as thai town in los angeles) head there to shop
  • start your shopping here as you will find a lot of the 'supermarket' ingredients that you need here including the meat, ginger, oil and vegetables...and it will probably be cheaper!
  • pick up some dishes, chopsticks, banana flowers and leaves (usually next to all of the vegetables) and anything else that you need for serving or decor
